I know this is a noobish question, but I'm posting from my phone cause i have no int reception on my comp so looking up indepth info is hard.

I know I need the U/L intakes and TB....

I'll get all this fromm a 00+ car. I also need a coolant hose I think. Someone list it please. I may finally be able to head to the JY friday to get this crap I've been wanting for months.....Ken failed me.

The egr on the large port has the same harness connector and it does work

If it helps, heres pics from my lg8 swap:

Also, make sure you get a 56mm tb to go with it. The LG8 i got had the 52mm so I got a 56mm off of a minivan in a j/y and swapped over the throttle assembly:

Exactly what slick said. Stock smallport 3100 injectors will be running damn near static with the 3400 UIM/LIM setup.

Get a set of L36 injectors, swap in (direct), and you will need to retune the PCM for this (just change the injector flow rate table)

Our stock injectors are 17lb/hr which does indeed max out at around 160hp.

Adam its easier than you think to go OBD 2.. I have a complete engine bay harness and a computer along with the computer box i can sell you if needed.. I also have DHP Programmer to modify your computer and get the maximum out of that thing.. You dont need to run the 2nd O2 because you can turn that off in the DHP you just need to add i believe 2 wires to the interior of the car and done.. You will have dam near all the components unpluggged when you go to top swap your engine.. Why not spent another hour and swap out your harness.. Oh and you need 2 OBD 2 knock sensors and i have them if needed too.. You can also delete the EGR in DHP and just block it off completely.. You will never get a SES..

Think about going OBD 2 your already going to have your car apart..

how do i add the to knock sensors? this is sounding a bit more fun. i'd love to tune the car. i know in stock form, the AFR's are pig rich above 3k rpm.

yeah, the target AFRs are like 11:1 at certain points.

The knock sensors I don't know about, but I know if you do go obd2, get a maf sensor with your harness and like Robert said, you can just turn off the second o2.

Do you know if you have roller rockers?

Are you gonna do an obd2 swap?

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have been thinking about doing a top swap on my 96 3100 since I think my LIM might be starting to leak a little.

So the best upper intake manifolds to get are from 2000+ 3100's or are the 2000+3400's better?

So if I go with 2000+, I will need a new EGR valve, new pressed in coolant return hose, new UIM/LIM gaskets from the donor engine year, and a 3400 56mm throttle body.

Thank you chris.

Adam, OBD2 is less work than the largeport swap. Trust me, ive done both.

If you need sensors and parts and such, I will be hittin up pullapart really soon, I will get some for you. If I see a harness I will pull that too since they are so cheap.

Our stock injectors are 17lb/hr which does indeed max out at around 160hp.

17? it's not a 3.1, it's a 3100, should be 19lb/hr...

and this should verify everything:

http://wot-tech.com/shop/articles/94-99-3100-large-port-swap/cat_73.html

Its 17lb/hr. Dunno where 19 came from? Possible when they went to largeport 3100 with higher fuel pressure?

Adam, you have any questions/concern about OBD2 swap, PM me. It would be stupid not to go OBD2 at this point in your cars life, especially how easy it is to do and the benifits.

Not to mention the engine will just run smoother (speed density blows)

not swapping till i build a motor. i just want to see what i can get out of this motor with a large port and the exhaust mods i have done. i'd like to see over 150whp.

wiring does intimidate me a bit I'll admit. i'm good with mechanics though obviously.
