supertrick_05 Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I fuckin LOVE that hood! I think it would look better on an '89-93 B4U car though. Quote
94 olds vert Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I agree that the 88-96 grand prix coupes still look "modern" today. OMG the hood was functional able to smoke the tires from a 40 mph roll I wonder what ever happened to this beast of a gp? I want to make a clone of one. That would be bad ass. Quote
supertrick_05 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 Probably dismantled and crushed like a lot of really cool prototypes... Quote
Night Fury Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Gen II supercharged 3800, with air-to-liquid intercooler, conservatively rated at 300 HP and 380 lbft!!!!! Quote
ss427 Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Love that hood! I wonder if the GM designers created the shape themselves or used a design from something out there already.. I wish there was a picture showing the duct work underneath. It was done here so it could be definitely be recreated! Quote
94 olds vert Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 If you look at the top of the air box there is a triangular cut out, that looks like when the hood is down it feeds it cool air. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I saw this car in person many many years ago. Quote
Euro Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I have this book. A really good read! Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT THIS INTO PRODUCTION??? Want. Very badly. *Thinks... maybe I can make a clone some day...* Quote
jeremy Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I love everything about that car except the wing Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I love everything about that car except the wing Is it a bit smaller than a normal GP wing? I didn't notice that when I first looked at it. So yeah, I want to clone it... but keep my current spoiler... Quote

I have no idea if it is the stock one or not ....I think that the GP pre_gen coupes look so much better completely wingless Quote

gpchris Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 AHHH!! Its put on a 2g unibody! WTF! Thats awesome! Whoa just realized something. Look at the engine bay picture. It has the newer windshield wipers. You can clearly see they go up above the black window trim but in the picture of the car you see no wipers but you can see the black window trim... Hmm I think that engine pic is from a different car.. Quote
oscar_wilde Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I am interested in the air-to-water inter-cooler set up. I wonder how they set it up and where they put a water tank. Quote

Addicted to eaton Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 no, thats the way the wipers are. Quote
3.1cutlass Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Whether or not the windshield wipers are wrong the strut towers are not right. Quote

Octavarium454 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I'm gonna buck the trend here and say it is the same car. They put a Gen 1 body on a Gen II carriage and maybe the just took the wipers off because it was a nice day and GM just does stupid shit like that for no good reason. On a side note, I WANT IT! Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Yes. Still want to make mine into a clone someday... Quote
Twenty Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 conservatively rated at 300 HP I want that. Quote
