3.1, runs rough and has lifter type noise

i have a 1994 lumina 3.1, it's my daily beater and i havent really had any problems, but this morning i tried to start it and it wouldnt. sprayed some starting fluid in it and after almost killing my battery and having to hook the charger up, i finally got it to start but as soon as it started i heard a fairly loud tapping noise, at first i thought it was lifters but it might not be because it sounds a little different, and it runs rough, with a skip like its not running on all 6. i have to push the gas pedal quite a bit to get it to start. also as the car warms up, it will stall at idle. ive only driven it a couple times and then i left it alone when i found out it wasnt clearing up, so i dont know what happens when its completley warmed up.
