Tint on my GXP

So I have been debating what how dark to go on my GXP, my cutlass has 5% all around but i have had my fare share of tickets so im def. not going that route on the GXP. I like to have the windows all the same tint because I just like the looks of it better but i think if i do 30% all around i wont like it caue it will not be dark enough? What do you guys think?

Yeah....not a huge fan of mixed shades myself. I voted 35% all the way around because that's what the GTP is getting when she comes out from storage in the spring. And 35% is not too dark......so 98% of the cops wont even bother wasting their time.

I'm thinking between 30 and 40% all around for mine.

 

It's not legal, but fuck... Like everybody's got dark tints out there.

if you don't want 5% all around, which is what I would do....go 5% rears, 15% fronts....if you are used to 5% everywhere 30% will NOT be dark enough for you

I have 35% on the sides 20% on the back window.

Do 20% all the way around. Or 20% on the front 5% on the back. Thats what i have on my tgp. It matches up very well.

I would go 20% MHO

 

Here is 20% on all 3 sides with light color interior (sun behind me)

 

here is 35% on all 3 sides with dark color interior (sun behind me)

 

the color of the interior is a factor with how dark the tint looks

Yea Im not a huge fan of mis-matched shades either that is my delima and the tint shops around here dont have 20% I wish they did but my choices are 5%,15% and 35% at one shop and 6%,16% and 30% at another shop. And btw my interior is a light tan color

Exactally what i was thinking that i wont like the 30% all around but I dont want 5% agian because they raised the ticket prices to $80 a pop now. When i first got the cutlass done they were only $36 so i didnt care as much.

My Escort with 20% all around. Getting new tint this year. Back is bubbling.

 

 

My Lumina with 35% sides, 20% back before i took the tint off. Getting new this year. Wasnt dark enough for me.

How bad are the cops around there about tint? If they are pretty lenient i would go 15% all around. If they are real strict i would go with 30%. It sucks you cant get 20% becasue thats a good shade, not to dark, not to light. In three years ive only gotten one ticket for the 20% on my fronts on the TGP. And that was out in the middle of NOWHERE where the cops have nothing better to do.

Ill try to get some picks tomarrow but I gotta work so idk if Ill be able to but ill get some up soon. Thanks for all the imput and advice tho!

Sound like odd tint percentages, my local tinter only offers 5, 20, and 35%. However, he only uses Solargard metallized so maybe that's the difference. Some places here use 3M Panther which is dyed and turns purple.

 

Anyway, I'd go with 20% all around if it were me. Matches factory tint on minivans and SUVs. Not too dark, not too light, it's just right.
