mfewtrail Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 (edited) All images are located in this photobucket album. I suggest saving them to your computer and then putting them in order. They may not be numbered, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out the order of them... http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/platjblser/L36_intake_gasket/ Edited November 21, 2010 by mfewtrail Quote
AL Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 The image where they are removing the coolant elbows, I didnt have a problem removing mine but some people do and I was seeing if anyone had an idea of a way to let them come out easier since Ill be doing this job on my 97 and I dont want them to get stuck in there Quote
slick Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Pull it out. If it breaks, needle nose pliers or a pick tool (or a cotter pin removal tool). Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 pick tool x2 i have did this. Quote
w-bodys_are_the_best Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 x2 i have did this. x3, mine instantly broke off on both ends in my L67, had to steal my pick from work for a night to get them sumbitches out. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Nice Matt. I click on them and get an advertisement for a porn site. Seriously though, it's excellent to have those! Quote
mfewtrail Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Nice Matt. I click on them and get an advertisement for a porn site. Seriously though, it's excellent to have those! Looks like I might need to rehost them somewhere else if that's the case. I haven't seen anything like that when I click on any of those images. A pop up with some wind turbine or something on it did show up on the first picture I clicked though. Rehosted on photobucket... Edited November 21, 2010 by mfewtrail Quote
91LuminaEuro Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Now this may be a stupid question, but i honestly don't know. Does the L36 have the same issues that the L67 does? Was the recall on both, or just the L67? Sory for the NOOB question. *I also do realize that the recall wasn't on the UIM or LIM Edited November 23, 2010 by 91LuminaEuro Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Similar problem, but I'm pretty sure the recall is different. Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 the l67's were valve cover gaskets, the N/A 3800 got drip trays to band--aid the problem. Quote
Night Fury Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 L67-LIMGs, VCGs, coolant elbow L36-LIMGs, VCGs, coolant elbow, upper intake EGR flaw Quote
KingVee Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I just wanted to chip in some videos that I found on YouTube tonight which I thought were big helpers for people like me. There are 7 parts in total. The motor in the vid is a Series I, but it's still pretty damn good. Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 - Quote
AL Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 One thing I forgot to mention is the photobucket pics are not in order Quote
mfewtrail Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 One thing I forgot to mention is the photobucket pics are not in order From my first post: "All images are located in this photobucket album. I suggest saving them to your computer and then putting them in order. They may not be numbered, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out the order of them..." Quote
AL Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 No it wasnt hard to figure it out, It just threw me off when I was looking for the torque specs when I did this to the 97s new motor a couple nights ago. And I didnt read the first post since your edit lol Quote
