Regal_GS_1989
Is the Check engine light on? I Would take it to a reputable trans shop to have them scan it. Chances are though, it is the Pressure control solenoid. It can start by not supplying enough pressure for a shift, thus causing the trans to slip slightly. If this falls outside of the tolerances, then the ECU will command max pressure to keep it from slipping. This will cause very firm shifts. Sometimes shutting it down and restarting it can make the issue disappear for a bit, but it will return.
blackbeauty89
Valve guide seals IMO, would have nothing to do with trans shifting Who said it did? and i'll go to auto zone to see if they'll plug a scanner in and if i can get any codes.
