I'm sure that there are about a thousand threads on this, but for some reason I can't find what I am looking for. Could someone please make a list of everything I would need to swap a L67 into a 1995 monte z34. LQ1. OBD 1.5. Thanks.

well. this will be locked soon, But motor mounts, wiring harness/computer from 98/99 monte 3800. it would be really easy for you to fine a junk 1998/99 monte 3800 swap out the motor/ trans everything. and top swap it.

what im saying is it would be cost efficient to get a wrecked 3800 monte. then swap the hd parts from a 4t65e-hd over. (you can buy the hd stuff on club gp for 100-120$) 400-800$ in a wrecked monte. top swap it 250$, and you good to go.

Yeah dumb post. Sorry guys. But yeah, I was planning on a 4t65e-hd. I've heard that I need to fabricate a drivers side axle, but I've also heard that I don't. Do I only need to if its the non HD?

hell, you can buy a non-wrecked, running & driving 3800 powered monte/lumina for less then $2k, it would be most cost effective to buy one and just top swap it....then sell the '95 to someone as a beater to recoup a very good portion of your $..

Motor mounts? Isn't it a direct bolt-in?

well your lq1 just has one motor mount on the top. l67's have two. your going to want the top mounts atleast bottom should be the same. as well as the transmission

Right. Thanks.

I've considered that, but it is immaculate for its age, so not a beater. In reality, I guess I could buy a newer one with the 3800, but cosmetically it would most likely be a pretty big cosmetic downgrade. I'm just sick of the zero upgrades for this engine/year.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'll be swapping an L67 in place of this Series 1 3800 since it has absolutely no aftermarket and aside from higher ratio rocker arms, everything I've done has been custom.
