Sorry another leaf spring question.

Hey guys, I was in my local yard and I was looking at different cars and spring codes. I seen a 1993 Regal with a RFK code. My question is, is it possible that this could raise the rear of my vert? My present spring code RDk.

lower the front.

That doesn't change the now weakened spring in the back, which doesn't provide enough support over bumps and can easily bottom out. Not to mention its more prone to cracking if it hasn't already.

pic of current sag on the cutty?

I don't know if it's sagging or not I just want it up a little. Both pics in my sig are of my car even though the color looks different.

well in that case i cant see it giving you any lift. yours doesnt look to be sagging at all.

If you are deadset on lifting the rear, i'd get a custom Birchmount leaf.

I guess I'll just wait til summer and see what's it like with the wheels on full time. Thanks

you can get monoleaf pucks to go beneath the spring ends...

I've got those on already. I got them from Advance where I work. They are the TRW ones. They didn't seem to do anything at all.

You're sure the spring isn't broken?

Seems there have always been 2 types of people on this forum... Those whos back end sat way high, and those whos sat way low  plain and simple a lot of the springs on these cars suck the 88-91ish springs seem to be the best at not sagging. Both my z34s sagged, and the spring was never cracked. I now have a 90' Grand prix spring in the back of mine and it sits maybe a little too high now :willynilly: I can't win!

It doesn't appear to be broken

Did you get it used? What is the code on it? Do you think it would be worth trying the one off the regal coupe from my previous post?

yeah I got it from a member who was parting out a turbo grand prix. I have sine forgotten the spring code of it though.

I think I'll at least get the spring off of that regal just to have it.

That looks about like my GP. It's got a little bit of a squat to it.

Is that normal?

I'm not eating up tires, so I don't think it's abnormal. I'm sure the monoleaf is sagging a little, but not enough to be a problem.

Honestly, unless you're chewing tires up, I'd just leave it. But if you don't like the way it looks, then by all means swap her out.

I'm gonna be putting twentys on this summer and I just wanted it up for precautionary measures

Got the RFL spring off at the yard and guess what, why when I laid on the ground and low and behold my vert already has that spring code on it. My label on the spare tire cover says 0Dk, I guess I should've checked first. Oh well anybody want it?

Where on the spring can you check the code just by laying under the car?

It's on one or the other end by the knuckle. It's stamped into the fiberglass as well as the part number.

The cover should be the original. The codes from the site were odm odk, odn. Could the car have any one of these as a option?
