jeremy
It's cheap, fun and still gets looks/comments even though it is 15 years old....I like the LQ1 and I like the fact that my car doesn't have the boxy style pre-95 interior

chadz34
I love my '96 Lumina LQ1 because it's been through alot of my times, I have had it for almost 5 years and put alot of time and effort into this car. The engine is reliable no matter what anyone says. NEVER ONCE has this car been on a tow truck. It has great horsepower, love how it revs strong to at LEAST 6,800rpm on a daily basis. It's fun. Paint is still holding up fairly good too. Depending on how it looks come spring time. This car may get some tight wheels and window tint. j_mezz
Went looking for my first 'new' car in 93. Had a good job and wanted a convertible. Checked every dealer around and the Cutty was simply the best looking one around. Fell in love instantly with my car when I found it on the dealers showroom floor. It was Way more than I wanted to spend but, then and now, I love the looks, the color, the roll bar, the seat belts in the door, and the interior size -front and back. In all this time it's only left me stranded once - alternator died about 3 minutes out of Shea Stadium in probably the worst neighborhood she's ever been in - but had just enough momentum to glide into a gas station. Will never, ever, part with this car.
ss427
j_mezz what dealer did you buy your Cutty at? My family used to have an Olds that was from Mack Markowitz in Hempstead.
j_mezz
Too funny! That's exactly where I got it. My white coupe too (from the used car lot across the street)! I still kick myself for not taking a picture of it in the showroom! I should have at least taken a picture of the dealership before it went belly-up. AWeb80
i like my glass non composite headlights. they add to the character of the car. i hate how every new car has streamlined headlights for stupid aerodynamics. i don't have to worry about the headlights getting all pitted and yellow. 98LTZ
I love my W-Body because: It rides nice Plenty of interior room and the seats are comfortable Excellent in the snow It's a rare because it's an LTZ and there are not too many out there It has dual exhaust Last but not least I love the optional 3800 Series II Engine. The 3800 alone is enough to love your car, and these cars are absolutely excellent in the snow. I've compared my Regal and my fiance's sister's Regal sedan to an 00 camry, 97 accord, 98 Windstar, 08 Hyundai Azera, and various other RWD cars, and none of them accelerate or stop as well as these two w-bodies do. I agree. That's why i'm going to try to hold on to it as long as I can. My Lumina is a tank in the snow. I also have a 99 escort 4dr sport that's not nearly as good in the snow as my lumina becuase it's a smaller car. I thought my 95 plymouth acclaim was a tank in the snow which it was but not as good as my lumina.
redmetrix
When I was a kid in the mid to late 90's. The cars that really caught my eye were the 91-93 B4U Grand Prixs. Especially the GTP's. Back then it wasn't uncommon to see them cruising around with those notable hood louvers. Fast forward to about 2002-2006, What happened to the 91-93 GTP's, it's like they became non existent. Then one day in fall of 06 I found a nice clean 93 Aqua GTP for sale about 12 miles from my house; it was practically a surreal experience. It was all stock mechanically and even had the original CD player in the dash. So for $1750 I had my dream car that I had always admired. This is why I Loved my 93 GTP. The way they handle, the cool as hell sound of the LQ1, the interior, the really comfortable AQ9's, these cars have Character. When I drove that thing around, it felt like having a car unlike any other car. In my opinion, the 91-93 GTP is the neatest car inside and out that GM has ever built. Of course I love all the other W-body's too. My dad also bought and sold five 90-92 four door Lumina's, one of the 90's had the 2.5, that was my favorite one. mra32
I love it because when the downpipe breaks, its the most menacing sounding car ever. I scared people into snowbanks this weekend. Working on fixing it though
