supertrick_05
I'm going to replace my injectors in my 1992 Grand Prix with an LQ1. I am trying to find a better replacement (better design) other than the stock ones. I've heard the stock ones aren't very good. Otherwise I'm going to get them rebuilt and flow matched. Thanks in advance.
Andrew
ford yellowtop injectors. they are much cheaper and have a better spray pattern. several of us have ran them no problems.
supertrick_05
Hmmmm...I've heard people running them in the 3.1's and such, but with a 3.4 DOHC? Really? How much better are they than OEM? Cuz I want the best injector selection that I can find. I'm guessing these are what you speak of? http://www.jegs.com/i/Ford%20Racing/397/M-9593-C302/10002/-1?CT=

Crazy K
ford injectors are 19lbs, rated at Ford's PSI. at GM PSI, they are between 21 and 22lbs. they are a good substitute for TGP injectors, and potentially for the 3.4 as well. they are made by Bosch, and have the common multitech 1 connector, so they are directly swappable. supertrick_05
Well I'm pretty sure that you can't go wrong with an AC Delco replacement...so I think I'm gonna go with those. Yeah, they might not be as cheap as the Bosch ones, but they were made directly for our cars, not for Fords. I think that's the safest bet. Are you aware that 3.4 5speed cars had issues with their injectors? IIRC the gm service bulletin says to swap the 94+ injectors for the 91-93 injectors to correct the probelm. and there is nothing wrong with quality designed injectors... and the Bosch happen to be quality with good spray patterns and durability. something many Gm injectors actually seem to lack with age... AL
I havent heard of the swapping 94+ injectors before, Where did you hear that Ken? I believe you, Just curious... Also, I got quoted 27 dollars per injector for rebuild

Also, I got quoted 27 dollars per injector for rebuild IIRC..... Here, or on 60degreev6. The issue is a stalling issue. the TSB say to replace the injectors with a different part number. that part number happens to be the one they used on 94+ LQ1s. again, I can't find the TSB or source of the issue, but it is what I heard. slick
I've read, and heard it as well. Myth, or not, it's been pretty common practice since well before I was a member here.
mfewtrail
I scanned through some TSB's real quick and didn't see any mention of fuel injector replacement for 94+ cars.

Crazy K
lol, i thought thats what i had heard. Other accel parts have been lower quality than OEM, including coils for our car.
