Nick07
Anyone else have problems with the P0137 code? I replaced/cleaned/inspected everything that myself and many others could think of that could cause the code and my car is still doggin at low rpm's or in O/D, that's probably the best way to describe it. Car is a 96 Monte Z34 and the code is for "o2 sensor low voltage (bank 1, sensor 2)" which is the rear/downstream o2 sensor. I've replaced the sensor, inspected the wiring, cleaned coil packs, wires, etc, had it scanned numerous times, and replaced many other things that were suspected to be the problem before I got the car scanned. Any other suggestions?
BXX
Sounds like time for a new converter!!!
Nick07
That's what I was afraid of, this problem was part of the reason I wanted the guy to take it off when I had my exhaust redone. Can I just gut it out or is that gonna affect my performance? Performance is one thing I don't want to lose, not that's there's much to lose anyway

Your pissed at having a light right now... No converter and you'll be triggering codes and lights as well after a amount of time.. Trust me, im OBD2 swapped, no rear O2 and I have prolly 4 codes stored due to it..
Nick07
Actually the SES light isn't on, well if your pretty damn sure that's the problem I'll take your word for it cuz that was in my list of "maybe's". If I get a high flow cat is that gonna throw any codes?

If I get a high flow cat is that gonna throw any codes? A lot of codes doesnt trigger a light.. just an FYI. And its hard to be pretty damn sure while doing an internet diag However, if it was my car, I would be looking at the converter as a big possible. Of course I would be scanning and datalogging to see what the rear O2 is actually doing. And honestly, if you have a crapton of miles on the car, I would prolly replace it just because, especially if you drive the car hard or had a misfire that wasnt fixed right away. And a highflow MAY not cause an SES light (some actually do, you will get 'catalyst efficiency below threshold codes!!) but it wont help your performance on the stock car in any way shape or form.. Your stock converter already outflows your downpipe, so a highflow still wont let more flow through. A larger downpipe would be the item to get that would benifit you.. Nick07
Understandeable on the internet diagnosis part, wasn't sure if you've experienced this first hand or not. There's is a butt load of miles on the car (almost 195,***), actually not TOO terrible for the car being a DD it's entire life and being 14 years old. I don't usually drive it hard but when I do I want it to be 100%, I notice it all the time when I'm driving normal though which is what bothers me. Well I'll look around and see what I can find for new cat's so if it isn't the problem I won't be out too much, thanks for the input. You'll be hearing from me soon on the outcome
