sensor on back of 3.4 block?

ok, while pulling my motor i broke a sensor on the back of my block. when you pull it out, its a tight fit and its liek a 2" long cylinder, metal, and like .5" wide. do you guys no what it is? thanks? something with oil btw.....

You demanding little bitch... what's the major component always discussed on a W-Body.

I'm betting it's a Crank Position Sensor, but I don't know exact dimensions / materials.

Its either the crank sensor or the knock sensor. Im going to say its the crank sensor, but Im pretty sure the knock sensor is back there somewhere

that might be it.

 

it isnt the knock sensor, ive changed that b4 and knwo what it looks like. the metal cylinder part slides into a hole itnto the block, then a bolt holds a clip that holds it in there. i broke that clip, but it is part of the sensor.

knock sensor is in the head i belive.... im thinking crank position sensor

it is the crank position sensor, 16.99 at advanced auto, they have it in stock, im gonna go get it.

and btw, the knock sensor is on the block behind the alternator cooling duct

Yeah, it should be there, not in the block...........I wasnt thinking straight

nope. its right behind the alt cooling duct, and it does screw directly into the block.
