Q-Ball Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 In my 99 Regal, I went to pop the trunk with my keyfob and nothing happened. I can hear clicking under the pass side of the dash, but nothing. I opened it with my key just fine, but I dont hear the latch engaging. Any idea's? It stopped working the other day, but I just though my keyfob was dying. The next day, it did pop fine. I did wait a day and its still buggered up. Quote
Andrew Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 its likely the actuator. I had to replace mine on my 98 GP. Quote
Q-Ball Posted January 24, 2010 Author Report Posted January 24, 2010 Hmm, after some digging on google I found this site. Maybe I'll give this a try and hit the latch with a multimeter first. http://redhouseon7th.com/redhouse/howto/2009BuickTrunkWires/index.html Quote
dodgethis Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 While your at it, check the voltage on the fob battery. Quote
rockfangd Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 also try the trunk popper button in the car and if that also doesnt work more than likely it is the actuator Quote
Q-Ball Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 My regal doesnt have the trunk popper in the glove box. I hear its an easy mod to add in though. Quote
Andrew Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 theres no button anywhere in the Regal interior? weird. Quote

Twenty Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 My regal doesnt have the trunk popper in the glove box. I hear its an easy mod to add in though. My father had one added in my GP years ago. Best mod ever. Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I've got a button on my remote that pops the trunk. I see no reason to ever need to use the button in the glove box. That button works fine though. Quote

Q-Ball Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 I have it on my keyfob, but none in my glovebox. I was angry when I found out it didnt have it. Oh well, looking to sell this car in spring anyways :lol Quote
rockfangd Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 thats really weird. Never come across that before Quote
GOT2B GM Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 wood screw holding the spoiler on shorted the wire feeding the trunk popper? Quote
Q-Ball Posted February 5, 2010 Author Report Posted February 5, 2010 The screws are not touching any of the wires matt. Do not worry. I'll get my multi meter out on the weekend and give it a shot when i push on my keyfob to see if its the actuator. Hopefully it warms up a little. I'm trying to get this all sorted out so I can sell it in the spring time. I'll probably sell the fleet of GP's too after I move too. Guy at my work already has offered me 3200 for it, but I said it says 3800 under the hood. Quote
