you mean 96-97?

X2.

i have seen 0 mile LQ1s on ebay before, but i wouldn't count on them being availible through GM, and definitely not for any reasonable cost.

You need a 95 motor or older cuz your OBDI I believe. I'd try to find a motor from a 95 Monte if I were you, then you can literally just put the motor in and be done. Other wise with a newer motor you'd have to convert to OBDII and mess with wiring and the computer and all that BS. If your interested I have a 96 Monte Z you can pick up for $1200, just throwin that out there

91-93 will not have the extra cam sensor, a different alternator, different PCV routing, different crankshaft balancer, is speed density vs MAF etc etc

you may be able to use a 96-97 bottom end and install your 94-95 top end on it

Lol me and my step-dad just put a motor in a 95 GP and ended up using a 2001 3100 bottom end.

which has what to do with the OP

Notta!

and to answer the original question, NO GM does not carry ANY LQ1s anymore... the engine plant where they were built, in St Catherines Ontario has not produced them in a long long time
