Gen1 to Gen 2: Compatible Parts

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've been out of the W-body world for about 3 years and I'm trying to get up to speed again. It's been a while so many may not remember me. I'm looking to see if anyone has swapped out Gen1 brakes/suspension for Gen 2 equipment. I tried the search but all I've come up with so far is the 94-96 upgrade. If its been attempted and found to not be possible, has anyone found a suitable donor for 12"+rotors anywhere? On the same token, what about the aluminum engine cradle?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

As far as I know, it would be difficult to swap Gen2 brake equipment. You would either need to weld on new brackets to the knuckle, or would need to get new knuckles, which would require custom fabricated control arms since the ball joints on Gen 2's are bolted differently to the control arms.

If you're going to go through all the trouble of upgrading brakes, you might as well upgrade to GXP 13" brakes. DOHC V6 on this board has a group buy for them. I don't remember the exact price, but I think they were somewhere around $650. He had to weld new brackets onto the OEM struts to make it work.

As for the aluminum engine cradle, I don't know anything about it. The only aluminum engine cradle I know of is the one that the Grand Prix GXP with the LS4 uses.
