Hi everyone! I am installing a getrag 284 against a series II l67 in my 93 regal. I just found out that the driverside of the transmission is missing a "stub shaft" . The shaft goes between the cv shaft inner joint and the trans. Not sure what it even looks like, should be about 3 to 4 inches long. If anyone has one for sale or knows where to get one, let me know.

Thanks, Dan

It sound like the problem you are having is that you have the wrong CV shaft. Are you aware that the right CV shaft in a 284 equipped car is not the same right shaft in any other car????

But you are in luck. the RIGHT shaft on a 284 is the same shaft as the LEFT shaft on any 4t60e equipped W-body.

I must also ask: Is the oil filter in the way of the manual transmission? Or has that been remedied with an adapter or something?

you don't have the wrong axles. you are also correct, there is a little stub shaft that goes between the axle and the transmission. If I had a spare one I'd sell it to you, but alas I only have one.

It uses an intermediate shaft to make the pass side equal length as the drivers

ya the divers side has a stub shaft, they usually get stuck in the 1/2shafts when pulling them out, i think i have 2 or 3 of them :) but im unsure what shipping would be.

Your best bet would be to find a parts donor. They’re basically non existent now in the yards so will be a hard find for sure.  I’ve seen 3 284s in yards in 20 years of looking.  Where did the stub shaft go from the 284 you have?
