Night Fury
Spark plugs and wires are original in my mothers 2006 Monte Carlo LT. 150,000 miles, but still work fine. Should I get new? The plugs look tired, and like I said they are original. BUTTTTT Rockauto quotes me $110.47 :willynilly:

Night Fury
WTF? i don't think iridiums are even that expensive... That is for the irridums. And AcDelco wire kit.
92 GP
if that's iridiums AND a delco wire set, that's about right
92 GP
and with 150K on the Originals, yes, replace them!
3pt1lumina
I'd replace with 150k definitely. That doesn't seem right, though?
Timm
I know the iridium plugs for the 3800 are about $6-8.00 a piece. The part no is 41-101 for the AC plugs if you want to look them up. I've never heard of any problems with cheap wires (just dont go too cheap, the lowest I'd go would be $35.00) The worst that could happen would be electrical noise through the speakers. Nothing deadly.
sloick
my neighbor is a salesman and drives an 01 impala 3800 across country. he got 180k miles out of factory plugs and wires before the car developed a misfire.
PROTESTtheHERO
id go with accel wires, then again theyre expensive hence why i dont have them
Andrew
i would definitely change the plugs at least.
BXX
Works fine doesnt mean it works right Do plugs and wires both. Last thing that you want is a bad wire or plug to take out the ICM (and yes, it does and can happen) Could be worse, on Ford V8s (4.6/5.4) a failed plug will 99% of the time take out the coil in a matter of miles. Then again the coils are shit to begin with.
Night Fury
Well as much as I would've liked to do them now, while it's easy, neither of us have the money so I'll do it some upcoming weekend.
