2regals Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 What is the diameter of the front sway bar on a 1992 Buick Regal Custom Coupe with the 3800 and Dynaride suspension? Quote
xtremerevolution Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 What is the diameter of the front sway bar on a 1992 Buick Regal Custom Coupe with the 3800 and Dynaride suspension? Don't quote me but I think you got the 34mm hollow bar. Quote
White93z34 Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 i don't know what the car has, but it is likely not the 34mm hollow bar, IIRC only dohc cars and some later b4u grand prix did. Quote
2regals Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 the only one that the stores have in stock is the 32mm, is this rite? Quote
xtremerevolution Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 My regal had the 34mm bar from the factory Quote
xtremerevolution Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 you have to measure it. How far could it possibly be? The 1.25" ES poly bushings fit very snugly. Quote
cutty Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 you have to measure it. That's probably going to be the best way. Quote
Brian P Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I'm gonna guess the smallest (28 or 30mm, I can't remember) Quote
BS009 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I'm gonna guess the smallest (28 or 30mm, I can't remember) I would have to agree. remember this is dynaride, the most cushiony suspension available. these things have horrible cornering abilities. Quote

Yes, I also had dynaride suspension on my Regal before I started modding it, but it still uses 1.25" front ES bushings, which are closest to 34mm. I think dynaride referred more to the height and softness of the springs than the thickness of its sway bar. Dynaride "equipped" regals have more ground clearance than some light pickup trucks. Quote

Your Regal is also a '95, when GM used larger swaybars on base models (32mm at minimum) and soft-ride cars. GM liberally used the smallest swaybars (and in the case of the rears, no bar at all) on the early w-bodies . Quote
Crazy K Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 agreed. my 95 base model rental fleet came with fe1 and the heaviest swaybars ever available on a 3.1. btw, it has FUX front springs. Quote
BS009 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 damn, 95 regals get all the good stuff.... Quote
xtremerevolution Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 damn, 95 regals get all the good stuff.... All except the L36 and OBD2, which came on the 96 regals and all 95 model Bonnevilles. Grr... Quote
