GnatGoSplat Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 If he did something different, get pics from him too. Quote

93cutty Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Well I got a big FAIL for you vert owners. My dad didn't make them he bought them from a company on the internet for 13 bucks a set. He cannot remember where he got them. Quote
bender01 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Thats not a fail! get him to go through his c/c bills or drag up the pay pal info and find us 13$ trim! Now that I think about it im not sure I want $13 trim Quote
swift13 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 somebody probably sold him precut camaro trim for that price, its not that hard to get from the yard i see those things all the time. and it cost next to nothing Quote
tdvs Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 somebody probably sold him precut camaro trim for that price, its not that hard to get from the yard i see those things all the time. and it cost next to nothing The Camaro/Firebird weatherstrips are just clipped on. No pop rivets to remove at the j/y. When installing them on a vert, they can be pop riveted on as original or you can use small screws. On the previous vert I had, one side had been replaced at some point and it was screwed on. The outer trim covers that part of the weatherstrip so it doesn't matter which method you use. Quote
swift13 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 thats what i mean all you gotta do is pull really hard on them and they come off you can then choose to rivet or screw them in place Quote
pmc73gto Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I have four sets of the replacement type for sale. I put them on my car and they fit quite nice. Ready to install. 70./pair plus shipping.. I have restored three so far and everyone seems satisfied. Quote
swift13 Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 you want 70$ for direct replacements from gm or for the camaro weather stripping conversion? Quote
jake63 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I'm the guy that came up with the camaro/firechicken solution. I apologize for the pics going away but "weatherguys" or something like that was using them to sell J/Y weatherstrips for ridiculous money on ebay. I posted that stuff to help people not to help some prick capitalize on it. I'm glad someone saved the pics so it can be used for what it was intended. Quote
