Mufflers

I have a 1995 3100 GP coupe.

 

It has dual exhaust and currently the mufflers are rotted out.

Someone suggested that I could put a single long narrow muffler behind the cat, and straight pipe the original muffler locations. Has anyone done this? Thoughts or opinions?

I'm sure it can be done, but it will probably be a bit louder. Not that a 3100 sounds bad with louder exhaust though.

Do you need a cat there where you live? If not, get rid of it and run it straight

I got rid of mine and left the factory mufflers.

i cut my cat and mufflers WOW talk about loud i can really hear the bad injectors now ,, but i am planning on 2 1/2" all the way back once i fix the injector problems,, or i hope thats the problem

If you delete the cat, youll notice more rasp

if you cut your cat off you will kill the poor people driving behind you.

 

 

but your car will run alot better.

cut it and if the noise bothers you, run more resonators... VERY low flow restriction.
