Bonding with the LQ1 part 2

After I replaced the alternator, I started to see some other problems.

My first thought was BAD GAS.. I tried gas line antifreeze, injector cleaner, Seafoam and BEANO.

I was seeing P0304 codes and overall poor performance.

You know those front plugs are pretty easy to get to, but those back three...

Those pics and instructions made this a lot easier.

Theres a little black bracket that was on the back of the EGR valve that is now

on my grandads workbench.

I love this car but I'd turn the LQ1 engineers into geldings if I could find them.

you dont need to remove the plenum..... just remove the dog bone and rotate the engine forward a few inches. then a couple extensions and swivels and you are good to go.

96+ requires plenum removal, but its easier than the old style, you can unbolt the plenum from the TB and leave the tb arm in place.

Im not sure whats so hard about spark plugs :dunno:...last time i did mine in my LQ1 i didnt have to move the engine at all...i was able to do it with socket, extension, and rachet .

96+ is whole different animal back there.

91-95, unless someone as bent the firewall weatherstrip lip, or cut notches out of it, you have to rock the engine forward.

Ha I'm picking up a car (94 GTP) that some dumb ass kid thinks has a blown motor because it won't run right yet I guarantee the back 3 plugs and wires haven't been changed. All it is is a misfire, but then again the kid did mention that because of this his parents bought him a 04 Corvette (oh I raged so hard, trust me) and how he is going to immediately twin turbo it (again, I raged hard), so he is definitely not the brightest (he thinks he is going to run 16 psi on a stock lower end but anymore than that and he will have to change the lower end). So keep your eyes open for a pretty cheap Corvette in the near future. Confirmed from the different color plug wires in front compared to the back. This motor is easy as hell to work on in my eyes. I'd rather work on this than the L67 if given the choice.

OEM LQ1 wires on the 91-95's were red in the front and black in the back

Oh by color I meant color of the writing. I didn't know that though.

The front ones had white writing and the back ones had white writing. Plus the front 3 were marked with yellow marker.
