rear defroster

i've dealt with this for not quite a year, but here is the issue; it only defrosts 1/2 of the window. on each side theres is the wire that runs to a metal piece that heats the small lines. one side has come off the window. whats a good way to reattach it?

Solder it. I think the factory solder them.

there are defroster repair kits at most auto parts stores....can be used to reattach broken tabs and repair breaks in any of the lines

^What they said, except with the lines, if there's a break, don't use the little stencil they give you. It's way too wide. You a couple strips of masking tape instead.

and make sure you follow the directions to a T. ie the air temp has to be just right.

Had to do it 2x on my grandfather's 99 Lumina.... yes follow the directions TO A TEE. It's not hard but annoying when you have to do it more than once.

Both soldering and the repair kits work well. I prefer to solder as long as there is still something on the window to solder to, if not I use the kit. Soldering is just cheaper if you already have a soldering gun.
