jasond
The lower mount on the passenger side of my '94 GP has been bad for awhile, could driving it for an extended period of time have worn a hole in the oil pan? It's developed a pretty good oil leak, I'm not sure if it's just a bad gasket, or a hole in the pan. Thanks, Jason
1990lumina
Don't think it's possible for that to happen. You'd be hearing it smash into the subframe before any worn holes would develop. You probably have two issues now. The oil pump drive O ring is probably leaking like crazy. I know my Lumina is leaking from there as of late but I don't feel like fixing it so it can leak and leak and leak till Iget to it.
jasond
Would the oil pump drive o-ring cause the pan to be covered in oil though? It also leaves a good amount on the ground. I'm talking about a quart every week and a half. I've yet to get it on a lift and look at it. I know the hydraulic mount has exploded. I will probably replace it with a solid mount from work (Autozone). After owning the car for 8 years, and 205,000 miles, I can't complain too much. Crazy K
yes it can. consider that an oil ring leak = free rust coating under the entire car.
jasond
I'll have to investigate that o-ring and see if it is the source of my leak. I was afraid that bad motor mount had caused some collateral damage.
