supertrick_05
My brother was telling me something that kept on freezing up in his '91 Grand Prix GTP and I just found out what it is...he said it's the AIR system. He said it would freeze up in the winter and keep blowing the fuse under the hood. Where is this located and what does it do?
Addicted To Boost
It injects air into your exhaust system and aids in emissions. Pretty much with the fresh air injected in there, it reduces NOx and hydrocarbons. It does not put any damper on performance.
supertrick_05
Hmmmm...well he said it killed the power in the car when the fuze blew. He was on drugs when he owned this car...literally on drugs. He's an ex-meth head. LoL!
White93z34
at least in my travels... the AIR pump is almost always shot by this point in time. It should never affect drivability though. The computer does not know weather it is running or not. but for reference it is located behind the pass side fender towards the front of the car. If it were to be working you would notice a spaceship like noise coming from your car from time to time. I've been through 4 or so pumps now and have yet to find one that works right.
