Okay, my buddy has an 04 Comp G and got a Random Tech downpipe, here's the pic. It will be minus cat.

He says it will fit my LQ1. It's got a 2.5" flange to 3" pipe.

 

Will it fit?

 

I hope it does cuz I got a Summit Racing muffler w/ a 3" inlet to dual 2.5" outlets I wanna put on.

 

Will a 3" downpipe be overkill by the way?

3" DP on a LQ1? YEAH, overkill.

 

i highly doubt exhaust meant for a 04GP3.8 would fit a Gen1 LQ1....

Exactly what I thought. My friend thinks he knows what he's talking about but, I thought it wouldn't work.

 

What is the size of the pipe anyway?

stock? the OD should be 2.25 to maybe 2.5.

What's a good size to go with? I'm replacing everything b/c the pipe is rusted out. And also want to go catless.

 

Want to go DP to muffler (where cat was), then take the outlets to side exit infront of the tires (w/ rectangular SS tips) or just after the tires (doing the old 1986 442 look) and those will be 2.5".
