zrothauser
I have a 95 GP with the performance sound amp, and I'm trying to use a Sony headunit with this. Out of the HU there is a line to power an amplifier, that says 0.3A max. Can I wire this to the pink line providing power to the amplifier? Crazy K
I'm not sure if it would be possible to figure out what the amperage use is of the amp... wait... maybe it can be done... you'd have to probe from the amp power wire to a hot voltage source and see what the reading is with your mutilmeter in the amp setting (read the manual) If it uses more than .3 amps... it should be wired to use a relay. the relay would hook the amp to the radio's power source. spiderw31
Power (in Watts) = current*voltage Therefore, the max power that line will supply is 4.32 Watts (.3*14.4). Unless you have a 4 watt amp, it won't work. That lead is for the "remote power", i.e. the signal to power on the amp. The actual power lead is a separate line.
