89GP_SE
Ok so the time has come, the rear brakes on the lumina are done for, the drivers side is seized, the pads havent worn out ever, but the passenger side, only the outside pad is worn, the inside one is too but not to the bare metal the other is. I need to do a quick fix to get by till pay day.. (jan 4) so give me insight... if I took out the outer pad on the passenger side, would it cause any more damage... its grinding against the rotor... If i just replaced the pads on the passenger side, do I need some sort of special tool for the piston, as I am under the impression that the rears dont get squeezed back just turned? Im trying to hold off till payday so I can do the 94 + upgrade
Andrew
if I took out the outer pad on the passenger side, would it cause any more damage... yes. the caliper would then hit the rotor! if you have ran it like this for this long, another week wont hurt. especially if you are gonna do the 94+ upgrade, everything that is now fubared will be replaced.
