I'm looking for anyone with exhaust clips...preferably with 3.4 DOHC's, but other 60-deg cars are welcome! I'm trying to figure out what kind of sound I want out of my '92 Grand Prix SE. Thanks guys!

Man, I was just checking out some videos on YouTube of late model Grand Am GT's with the Flowmaster 80 series Camaro/Firebird mufflers on there...that is pure sex! I wonder what a 3.4 DOHC would sound like with that muffler...???

Well in all fairness, you don't know what series of Flowmasters those are, and he said those mufflers were rotted with holes in them and such. That Grand Prix had a 3" exhaust, which is why it sounded so nice...that must have killed his power! That's too big of piping for that car. I think I might have to try out that Flowmaster 80 series. If I don't like it, I'm sure I can sell it on the Minnesota GM forum to an F-Body guy.

Wow, that actually doesn't sound that bad! It's really loud though...

Keep in mind that a Fiero has a shorter exhaust system and will sound a bit different with the same muffler vs. a w-body.

I have some exhaust clips here of 2 of my 3.1's. http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/platjblser/?mediafilter=videos

The dark videos are of my white '93 GP from earlier this year. They were taken at the beginning of the year and the temps were around 30-40*F so the exhaust sounded a bit louder.

My setups are as follows

'93 Grand Prix SE(3.1 MPFI) - Catless w/ a 30 series three chamber flowmaster(larger case than the typical 40's everyone runs) placed where the cat would normally go, then I'm using a dynomax bullet as a resonator placed where a stock resonator would be on a 1st gen(beside the gas tank area), & 2.5'' piping back to the y where it's necked down to 2.25'' for my tips that have that inlet size. The tips are "dual dual" round 3'' outlets with rolled edges. Going from thin walled tips to these years ago, I noticed a slight difference in sound. I used to have the same setup w/o the bullet muffler and it sounded exactly the same, but about 2-3x louder.

'90 TGP - carsound/magnaflow high-flow cat, 2.5'' piping, 12'' universal resonator, and no mufflers. The exhaust is necked down at the very rear to utilize the stock tips. I've been meaning to ditch those or hog out the inlets to a larger size. The turbocharger muffles sound a good bit by itself. A naturally aspirated car with the same exhaust would be REALLY loud.

This is my 5 speed Z24 cav back in winter 06-07 I believe As you can see from the pics below, there was ice under the snow and bald tires on the cav, so I was able to put it in 1st gear and idle on the ice, sounds pretty good under load echoing off the garage. It's a 90 Z24 3.1 282 5 speed, no cat stock pipe and thrush glasspack in the mufflers original location.

The summer before this, the 91 Cutlass International 5 speed in the background was driven to my workplace at the time. It had stock everything with mufflers pretty rotted and I thought it sounded great. I took off from my workplace and got on it, many of my co-workers commented the following night that they also thought it sounded pretty damn good. That was also the night it started knocking
