GP1138
So I have this Intrigue. The main reason this chick said she was selling it for $900 was because the starter sticks and makes noise even after the engine has started running. I want to get this fixed at some point so I don't ruin my starter, but is this possibly a defective starter, or do I need a shim? How hard is a starter to remove on a 3800 SII? Addicted to eaton
Took me no time to do mine, maybe 30 minutes. Remove the TC cover, remove the 2 mounting bolts for the starter and remove the 2 wires, and reverse
Regal_GS_1989
I don't know about 98's, but my 2000 Regal, and my GF's 2000 Intrigue both have a starter interrupt, so you can crank it once the engine is running. If it is sticking, then it could possibly be just the solenoid that needs to be replaced.
AL
Usually the problem is in the starter itself, Throw a new one on and you should be good
