jeremy
Is the carpet convertible specific? or will the 2dr carpet fit? The auction below specifically mentions "not for convertible" so I am confused as to if they are full of shit or not. Also on a side note, does anyone have any experience with aftermarket carpet bought from eBay or similar? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-1996-OLDSMOBILE-CUTLASS-SUPREME-2-4-DOOR-CARPET_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35a532466aQQitemZ230404802154QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Thanks! Galaxie500XL
I read just the other day a mention of this by that member that used to work on the Cutlass convertibles when they were being built... The posting is in the Convertible section, the topic says something about "being able to help". I remember he said the carpet WAS convertible specific, and said something about the wheelhouses being smaller... That being said, if that was correct, it seems as if a regular carpet could be used...but with all the bracing and other mods made to the cars to make them convertibles, that could make a difference. I found the thread... http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php?topic=79615.msg1077984#msg1077984

slick
Aftermarket carpet sucks ass. If I were you, I would try to find a good replacement from the junkyard. Really sucks, but the aftermarket stuff never fits right, needs cutting, etc...

Pabz
A DIY job would look much better than after market. If you took the time to do it properly your looking at 100 to 150 $$ I plan to add some acoustic liner, underlay and carpet. Seam tape works well, try to get the widest material possible so the seams can go under the front seats. Good luck, and send some project pics. DavidHowell3633
I just replaced the original carpet in my convertible with really nice carpet from a four-door. I laid the four-door carpet out on the ground and then laid mine over it since I had to cut out the console/shifter hole. I used my Leatherman. After washing it at my local car wash and air-drying with a box fan for a week, it went in and settled well. No issues. The carpet may be a bit longer under the rear seat but it does go in without trimming.
