Guest Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 I was wondering if any reader had encountered this little gem of a problem: My wife's '95 Regal Gran Sport keeps warping rotors in the rear drivers side, every 1500 miles or so. I've taken the calipers off, and inspected them, replaced them with OEMs, changed pad types, tried percussive maintenance, etc. So far nothing has helped. I'm kinda getting tired of replacing the rotors every 2 months, and the dealer... Well.... :read: Long story short, I'm looking for a permanent fix for the car. Any suggestions on what may be causing the rotor to constantly warp? RP Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 The caliper piston may be jammed. It's one of the unfortunately side-effects of a park brake built into the caliper. It's also the same reason GM no longer integrates the park brake into the caliper on their newer cars. You could try recompressing the piston (it rotates in) and see if that unsticks it. Otherwise, my guess is you may need a new caliper. Quote
