microsvc
All of a sudden I noticed an abnormal oil consumption in this 3.1 when all along it never used any more than a pint between oil changes. Generally what can cause this in this engine, what should I be looking for? There is no leakage on the ground and the engine is dry of oil. Thanks for all the replies! slick
Check the side of the engine, below the throttle body. Also check your coolant. Running alright?
microsvc
Check the side of the engine, below the throttle body. Also check your coolant. Running alright? It runs great. The coolant is leaking from somewhere but I don't know where. Theres some drops on the driveway. Im thinking its a different issue? On the side of the engine? Which side are you referring to? The side with the belt or with the air filter? Thanks!

hotrodolds
What he's telling you to look for is the oil pump drive seal leaking and/or the LIM gaskets having failed.
White93z34
http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php?topic=16325.0 good write up on the oil pump drive seal as for your coolant, check that stupid metal heater line that goes down and around the passenger side frame rail. Also, are we talking 3.1 MPFI or 3100? Please post the year and car that you have
