Help for a 96 Regal GS

I am looking at buying a '96 Regal GS which is original for the most part. However it appears the area below the rub strip on this car has been painted, it looks like off white or silver in the pics I have (haven't seen the car in person yet).

Can anyone tell me if the '96 had add-on ground effects below the rub strip? My '89 had em..that's all I know.

I have a '96 and I'm not sure what you mean by "rub strip", if it's the trim down the side and the area down below it is painted the rockers are probably crafted from Bondo. They rot pretty bad at least on all the Regals I see around my area. Here's a post where there are some pics of mine but it's not a GS:

it appears on '96 it was partly covered by a 4 -5 inch panel.

My '89 had much wider ground effects.

Yeah, nobody makes those rockers and they're then only thing I see rot out in my area on these cars. If I ever need a friggin hood I can order one brand new. I did find this picture on line, perhaps that was a factory paint scheme?

I've seen similar pics online...very few however of the GS. Maybe I'll check out the "official" GM site for a contact

number or address and pick their brains.

Holy hell, they are right by me!! $70 each for rockers for teh CS, dayum! Gonna visit them sometime and check them out. If im gonna repaint this car, for $140 might as well put on new rockers!

I picked up a rear wheel arch rust repair panel for my '95 BMW for like 50 bucks. Can't beat that!!
