Was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has successfully Turbo'ed the 3.8 Series 1 engine?

If so please drop me a line, with some details. Such as config, problems you ran into, perfered parts, etc...

I have done a tonne of research, but was trying to find some more ideas that others have come up with .

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers and keep it shiny side up!!

The only video / post I can remember was the white Gen II Grand Prix.

It was a turbocharged 3800 Series II motor with a ton of modifications / fabrication.

Still searching for it, but I can't seem to get the correct key words.

It might be the home, but they give you next to no info on the turbo charging they have done. Parts, packages, etc...

Th GN or T-Type are givens, rockets out of the factory.

Anyone else?

Um..did you click on the OUR TURBO PROJECT link? I'm not sure how much more info you want than that :? You're never gonna get the complete componenet specs from them..because if they gave the info away, how would they make money? I guess if you want a little more info, you can go to http://www.clubgp.com and search for info on the turbo car.

You are joking right? :? What they are doing there is creating a completely race setup. I am looking to make the daily driver a great deal peppier. actually I have been following their build up and progress. For a very well funded organization they are doing great!

I am looking for any loose ends or pointers, for a person like you or me (I am taking it for granted that you do not have a full blow race team backing you), who could collect the parts necessary to perform a turbo install ourselves. :)

Sorry I should have made myself more clear. :? But please don't take offense, and Thank you for your input.

Club GP is my next stop.

Cheers!

Sorry..I wasn't sure of your reason for turboing a 3800. When I think of turboing a vehicle, it is always with race in mind. There is a guy on Club-GP that was doing a non-race turbo setup. I thought the price tag was somewhere around $4500. Not sure though. I used to have his post bookmakred, but then the forums changed there. If you search back far enough, I'm sure you'll find it. Good Luck!

I don't suggest trying to use parts from T-Types and GN's. Some of them were carbuerated, and even the later FI ones were not the 3800tpi that's in your car. It didn't seem like you were planning on doing that, Ribbie, but just in case.

Timg has a pretty slick and simple setup going for him on his 3.4 DOHC. I was thinking of something along those lines.

The big question is really to go with what Turbo? All of those different trims and types. WA!!

Thanks again guys!!
