Jeff M
Rules of Conduct, and Posting Practices on the TGP Message Forum. Read all you like, take all the help you can get, give all the help you can, but as a member you are granted a Privilege to Post a Topic and Reply to a Topic on this Talk Forum. Please be respectful of your privilege. Rules of Conduct Respect the other board members on this Talk Forum. Attacks, bashing, foul language, and threats will not be tolerated. Unauthorized product dissecting and disassembly will not be tolerated. Racist, religious and such politically improper discussion should be avoided. If you must vent then use the free Private Message option, use it, take your beef to the person you have a problem with, not in the Public Forum!! The following are the Courthouse Sentencing/Banning Lengths from the forum for offenders to these rules: 1st offense: minimum 3 days 2nd offense: minimum 10 days 3rd offense: minimum 30 days 4th offense: minimum 60 days 5th offense: minimum 120 days 6th offense: minimum 240 days 7th offense: minimum 1 year Each infraction to these rules will be judged on a case by case basis, with banning being discussed by all the Moderators and Site Administrator before initializing. These Warnings and Violation talks will NOT be discussed on the open Board, respect for both sides will be adhered to by the use of PMs only, this means if members need to discuss issues, they are to be in PMs to the mod(s) only, Mods will also use PMs out of the same respect for members! Posting Practices When coming here for help, the first thing is to search the topic for posts already on your subject or concern, a great deal of discussed knowledge on TGPs and TSTEs have been covered many times before, use the search feature, it can be faster than waiting for someone to post your needed info. When Posting to the Forum, use descriptive subject lines as this will improve the likelihood of people looking at your post and in you getting a response. For example “Cranks but No Start, please helpâ€Â, instead of “Darn TGPâ€Â. Tell us in detail the problem, what you have found, fixed, replaced and any results from those attempts. It would be helpful for everyone to hear your level of wrench turning to received back answers in the fashion best suited for you. Your final feedback on solutions is always appreciated; what worked best etc, this info will then be there for the next person doing a search or cruising the postings for a similar topic. When Posting a “Car For Sale†or “Parts for Sale†First it must be a 1989 or 1990 Turbo Grand Prix or 1990 Turbo Grand Prix STE 4-Door Sedan car or part for sale. Then you MUST include the following information if you are actually interested in selling it, and/or having the listing stay on the board and not be deleted: “Car For Saleâ€Â: TGP or TSTE Year Color Exterior Color Interior Miles known, or honest estimate and reason for estimate How much you are asking for this car/cost Manufacturer Options (there are only 3, don’t waste writing about others! HUD, ABS and DIC are standard on TGP, no HUD standard on TSTE but does have ABS and DIC) Leather Moon/Sunroof CD Player That is it for Manufacturer Options. Dealer Options (examples) Rear Deck Spoiler Window Tint Etc Owner Install Options Upgraded Stereo Alarm Etc Location of Vehicle (State and City, or Country) Drivable, or reasons why not! Major and Minor damage, dents, needs paint etc Pictures and/or Links to Pictures will help make it more likely someone will consider damages such as to the exterior or interior of your car! Of course pictures of the car, interior and exterior and engine bay. Is it listed on eBay or elsewhere We will give you 2 weeks before we take the listing off, or email a Mod to ask for an extension The rest here is optional but is important if you want to find a buyer!! We all know here that the seats wear/tear on the drivers side, and that the paint can fade on the mirrors, roof, trunk, hood and bumper skins so better show us how much now! If you know what needs to be fixed then say it!! If you have fixed items then list them!! Tires bald or new Suspension clunks Tune up done last Anything else, the more detailed and accurate the info the better your chances of a sale! “Parts For Sale†Part description i.e new, used, rebuilt, how old Tested, not tested Known condition outside of being new, used, rebuilt Price you want for it Of course pictures How many to sell Location of parts (city, state or country) Provide Shipping (especially larger parts) Local inspection, sell and/or pickup part Listed on eBay or elsewhere We will give you 3 weeks before we take the listing off, or email a Mod to ask for an extension If you have ideas, products or kits to offer or sell then offer them up. Since there is a rule to not dissect, or un-warranted bashing of your product or idea then you should now feel free and safe at offering your items and ideas here on this Forum. Please state if you are giving this away for free or will be planning to charge for it. But, please explain what your product does, what it offers, how it is better than stock, give us the specs to compare with others, just LIKE we use to compare cars, turbo, etc, how much better, faster ets, "X" amount more hp/torque, "X" amount of increased air flow etc!! If someone does not like a product, then give the facts of what you don't like (you can always discuss this with the one who made the product too!!), not a personal attack of the efforts or the person. And in those facts it should be clear to not reveal the background by dissecting the work done, you can still get your point across, such as “this Cold Air Intake uses a K&N Air filter, I prefer the new air filters from Holleyâ€Â, NOT “this dork just uses a lame K&N air filter, Holleys are so much better and cheaper tooâ€Â. Common sense as always, RIGHT?!. Thanks for reading and following these Rules of Conduct and Posting Practices, they are here to serve you better, and in maintaining a healthier Forum for all members and for attracting potential new members as well. Enjoy! The Moderators and Site Administrators
