Addicted to eaton
Ok clutch is in. the one i took out had no nothing left on it. But i got a few problems! the clutch is very very easy to push.... to easy i think. 1st is almost impossible to get into sometimes. when i go in reverse it grinds like the clutch is not fully letting off the fly wheel. Leadfoot
Have you bled it?
Addicted to eaton
don't know how but i did what Chris said so i wouldn't have to.
mra32
Bleeding a clutch is a 2 person job given you dont have any fancy bleeding tools. Basically one pushes on the clutch pedal and another cracks the bleeder open then shuts it before the person pushing the pedal lifts up on the pedal. The bleeder should have the little nipple on the end going into a tube. This way air doesnt go back into the bleeder. Now before you do this, it would be worth finding out whether the 282 has a way to adjust how the slave cylinder is pushing on the clutch fork. It could take a simple adjustment instead of bleeding it
White93z34
It is non adjustable IIRC. And honestly I can say I have no idea how to bleed a 282 clutch. I'll check a FSM tomorow when I get home if no one else gets it before then.
RobertISaar
sounds like it's done the exact same mehod as brakes.... and according to alldata, it isn't adjustable on the 89. there is a procedure for the 88 though...
w-bodys_are_the_best
You could also have a bad slave or master. You shouldn't need to bleed it if the system wasn't open. Good news is that either are cheap and readily available for the 282, unlike the impossible to find and bank account draining master and slave for the 284. 94GPGTP
there is no bleeder screw on either the 282 or 284..
