RobertISaar Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 i was severely misled by the title.... but if it works for you, cool. i personally don't care where the e-brake is, as long as it works. Quote
mra32 Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 now you have a reason to touch your passenger's thigh! Quote
Drummer Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 What did you get it out of? looks like a grand Am E-brake Quote
kuntzie Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 ya its out of a 2001 grand am along with the main e-brake cable and the boot, console needed some work but it was pretty straight forward Quote
Q-Ball Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Awesome work! Always wanted to do this. How well is it working? Quote
kuntzie Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 it works very well, i only did this because of the 5-speed, it just needs it otherwise i guess it would be fun for a winter drift lol (not for this car though) Quote
Andrew Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 i have ALWAYS wanted to do this!!! very awesome. Quote
Twenty Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Nice! I hate the foot e-brake, especially the double-pump ones. Why GM, why? Quote

Octavarium454 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I actually got used to the double pump ones, and really kind of like them. I hated the ones where you pushed down and had to pull the handle. However, on a five speed that e-brake belongs by the center console. Props to you man , that looks nice and it is what GM should of did in the first place. Quote

oscar_wilde Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I really want to convert my car to a console brake. The foot brake in mine is impossible to use in an emergency if the brakes ever get lazy. What a stupid idea to put the brake as a foot one. I remember the one in my Lumina was jammed from never being used for fifteen years. It was angry when I tried to use it. Your conversion looks really nice! Quote
ss427 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Does anybody know if there is a foot brake unit that will bolt into a first gen that only requires one pump? I like the foot brake but I hate having to pump it multiple times.. Quote

I like the foot brake but I hate having to pump it multiple times.. If I remember there is a swap that can be done to change it to a single-pump. I forget what it is though, I shoul've checked when I had my foot pedal assembly replaced earlier this year. Quote
