If I were replacing a missing section of my exhaust, what diameter of pipe would I need to buy?

If I were to take the Cat off (I know people frown upon this), what would I need to replace the missing section of exhaust? I noticed how right near where the manifold connects to the casing for the cat, it gets a lot wider.

 

What kind of exhaust tubing would I need?
