sloshman Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 After doing a little research, it's possible but I read that there are a few obstacles dealing with the throttle body (keeping the mechanical control), returnless fuel injection amongst others. Are the work-arounds difficult or costly? Quote
Imp558 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Drive by wire isn't that big of a deal. You'd be best to have a stand-alone conversion done to the engine and then just wire it in. Quote
Euro Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 They're not too bad. I have an L26 in my car(minus the UIM, TB, and fuel rail etc). If you want the L26 UIM I believe there's an adapter to use the L36 tb Quote
digitaloutsider Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Why bother wasting any time swapping to the L26? Quote
sloshman Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 thanks guys for the clarification. Isn't the adapter sold on zz performance or similar site Well there's a listing for an 05 engine and transmission on craiglist so I wanted to see what challenges were and if it's worth it, Digital. It also seems like l67s and l36s are hard to come by on the west coast so just looking over my options Quote
hotrodolds Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Yeah, but an L26 doesn't gain you anything. The power and torque numbers are the same. If you want the aluminum UIM, just swap that in. Otherwise, do a top swap, or an L32 swap. Quote
