Twenty Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Quick question guys, I'm 99% sure but I wanted to check first; will the taillights from a Gen 1 W-body Grand Prix coupe fit onto a Gen 1 sedan? Reason is I've found a really cheap set of taillights from a coupe, without the checkerboard, and I'm contemplating getting them as a backup for the sedan and also in case I want to change them out. Thanks in advance. Quote
jman093 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Yes. Occasionally you will see a 1 gen that has one coupe tail light and one sedan tail light. Quote
Twenty Posted October 25, 2009 Author Report Posted October 25, 2009 Cool, thanks. If I do it though I'll be sure to change both lights. Quote
pontiacmaniac94 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 yup, and the cool kids like me, swap over the gen 1 tails to their gen 1.5s..... like this! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/pontiacmaniac94/IMG_1078.jpg[/img] otherwise, yes, 2dr, 4dr, whatever year from 88-96 will a direct bolt-in/plugin play, whatever you want to say. Crazy K Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 ????????????????? gen 1 GP sedan and coupes have a different shape to their tail lights, on the lower inner edge.... *might only affect those with a red light bar in the center* check to be sure!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Quote
5speedz34 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 1.5 gen GP? Apparently redesigned ground effects and interiors require a new "half-gen" designation. Quote

Apparently not everyone trolls multiple grand prix forums... ????????????????? gen 1 GP sedan and coupes have a different shape to their tail lights, on the lower inner edge.... *might only affect those with a red light bar in the center* check to be sure!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Not sure on that one, I got my tails off of a 92 4dr, and I don't actually remember if it had a ligthbar or not. Twenty Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 A '92 sedan wouldn't have the light bar. Edit: What spoiler is that on the red GP? I really like it. Quote

The spoiler is actually off of a 93 Grand Prix 4dr that I found at the junkyard. I am not actually sure who made it or anything, it didn't even have the holes for the gp trunk, so I think it might be a generic aftermarket lip. Thats one of the reasons I put it on there, I knew no one else had it, and it isn't quite as big as the regular spoiler, and not that small. Quote

Ideally I want a lip spoiler for mine but that one's nice too, I wouldn't mind it. Quote
pontiacmaniac94 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 good luck with that....they have been tryin to figure out where it came from since I put it on my car.... I will probably sell it before I dump the car......Which will be when she dies. Hopefully not until Spring. Quote
