Here is my first car a 92 cutlass supreme. It has the 3.4 dohc auto. had it since high school got me trough college and grad school. last sunday a guy pulled out in front off me with his w-body grand prix (haha) bam bam! now she is like this. I have always wanted to do a ls1 swapp rwd conversion but never wanted to hack up a good running and driving car. I would like to ask for other peoples opinions on what to do with it? I am more so wanting a v8 rwd conversion done. run good still any body looking for a 1st gen, 3.4 dohc? let me know what you think, and if you have any info on people that have done the rwd v8 swap before that would be good too.

that car looks as bad as a 93 sedan that got totaled by a friend. it is probably better to walk. the frame is probably bent, as you can see the Unibody is too...

yeah but if he wants to do a rwd conversion he will have to strengthen the frame anyway and modify a whole lot. right?

It all depends on a couple of things...

A. How solid is the rest of the car? Rust bucket = a PITA

B. How attached to the car are you? Some of mine I will never part with.

C. How much money/time do you have to throw at it? Sometimes we all have the best intentions but it just doesn't happen.

IMO, if it's solid entertain the idea of fixing it up...

complete understatement, he would have to practically build an entirely new frame for the back of the car and for the front of the car so he could actually mount the engine. then there's the transmission/driveshaft tunnel, then the rear suspension, and then there's the fuel tank. The interior would also need a little modification. he might even need to modify the front of the car so that a V8 would actually fit longitudinally under the hood. There's also the steering rack.

But if you've got the time and money to do this, then I say go for it. it'd be a kickass car to drive, and one hell of a sleeper.

i have alot of heart for the car and never saw myself parting with it. I would have to do alot of work for a v8 swap i saw a you tube video of a guy that did it in a monte carlo. not sure yet winter is comming and it get pretty cold up here so to be doing it in the garage that is not insulated would suck and slow th build down. money is not endless but i would always be watching the amount of money once I start I don't want to change my mind, and have to scrap it.

will sell the motor depending on what i decide. $400 prob

Keep it, and buy the 5 Speed STE that needs an engine over in the links? section. You already have the right motor!

P.S. = And you arent to far from it, its in Minnesota
