tunerlover3
Ok. So I havent done my top swap at all. For some reason I do and dont want too at the same time. What ive been wanting to do is a turbo setup. But looking at ZZP's budget kit, its mostly for the grand prix's. So I dont know what would be different ,if anything, If I wanted to put that kit on the monte. It looks like you have to have TOG headers already to use there system. slick
Cheap, good, and reliable don't belong together, unless you can find a good deal on used parts.
tunerlover3
Yeah I always here that lol What I really wanna do is buy ZZP's kit but I dont know if its going to work. Im confused on how the exhaust side of the turbo is integrated into the exhaust.
augi
you can always design a custom flange to bolt the turbo to on the exhaust between manifold and downpipe. id mount it on the back manifold after the fron dp meets the back. also, you can possibly do the whold setup(i havent seen zzps setup) for 900 if you know where to get the parts.also go with an external wastegate and intercooler even if you are running less than 5 lbs of boost... makes for more reliability. tunerlover3
The problem is there is nothing for the 5th gen montes. Turbo set ups for the other w bodies of course lol
tunerlover3
Well Ill probably get ZZP's Z3 turbo kit if I go through with this. Someone on club gp tells me I cant use the downpipe in the Z3 kit. Anybody have experience here with 3800 turbos?
augi
meh... foget kits... you can order silicon couplers online and big exhaust piping will just be the cheaper option... also you can wrap the pipes to keep it cool inder the hood. RobertISaar
if you want to get wallet-raped, get the ZZP setup... if not, do some reading, learn about turbos, then make a good decision about what you should do. buy "maximum boost", read it like 10 times, then go to the squirrel performance site, plug in all of your new-found knowledge, and be satisfied with something you built yourself.
