Venom
Alright so Ive been noticing lately a puddle forming under my car and discovered it was tranny fluid. After a quick inspection, it looked like a trans pan leak so I changed that out along with the filter. Well I still got the leak, so upon further inspection it looks like the trans side cover (on the drivers side) is the culprit. So now my question is where do I score the gasket from and how much of a job is it gonna be to replace?
GP1138
Make sure it's not the axle seal. That's a lot easier to replace than a side pan gasket.
RobertISaar
i could have swore i had a side pan leaking, but it was actually the tranny cooler lines...

mfewtrail
The side pans can and do leak after they get some age on them. The gasket is probably only going to be available individually from a dealer or transmission supply shop if you're looking for one locally. Some of the better part stores might be able to order you one though.
Venom
Well I 99% positive its the side pan cuz I can wipe off the bottom of the cover and instantly see it seeping and start dripping. RockAuto currently has the gaskets for like $35.

Ive dont that alot to stop trans pan leaks and it tend to work since the bolts have little torque and loosen up easily over time..
