TIE1-ON
My 02 Grand Prix's right side vents would all of a sudden blow hot air when the AC was on and the control set to cold. I would have to move the slide control up to hot and then back down to cold a few times to get it to go back to blowing cold air. However, it would go back to blowing hot air all on its own. So, took it to the dealer and the issue was the whole HVAC head control had to be replaced. Ouch. These things are like $400 to replace. So, if you have the same issue then that could be the problem. birdman
i did have the same issue until i took the motor off the pass side flapper door and turned it to cold manually and left it. which reminds me i need to flip it to hot sometime soon. birdman
i dont believe it to be the motor (at least mine) i took it apart and none of the gears looked cracked and when i plugged it in (still in hand) and turned it to cold it went to do a sweep test (or thats what it looked like) and once it got over to the hot side it kind of sat there and stuttered back and forth and then stopped completely and would not move at all until i un-hooked the battery and tryed again with the same results. Crazy K
you have to align the motor if you take the gears out... and what you describe is an alignment failure, unless it actually has a bad sensor...
