LukeZ34
As some of you may, or may not have known, I bought the $50 Liquid Glass Total appearance package to try on the TGP. Spent a about 2 days doing the work (a couple evenings, and all day saturday last weekend) Zaino had left me unimpressed, and the paint was starting to oxidize pretty badly, so something needed to be done to save it. The precleaner removed all the oxidation on the hood, roof, and trunk (wasn't an easy job though), and the polish brought out a gorgeous shine that I thought was unattainable. Needless to say, I'll be using this stuff for a long time. Now for the pictures 1) Half way through the preclean process. Half of the roof was done, other half was untouched. The entire roof, and trunk lid had a chalky white cast on it. http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/oxidation1.JPG 2) Roof of the car after the preclean process. No polish had been applied yet. Keep in mind, almost the entire roof was oxidized before. http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/afterpreclean4.JPG 3) Another picture of the car after the precleaning http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/afterpreclean.JPG 4) The hood after 2 coats of polish http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish.JPG 5) More pics of just 2 coats of polish http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish1.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish2.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish3.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish4.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/saturday/2coatspolish5.JPG 6)Final pictures, 3 coats of polish http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/100MSDCF/DSC03527.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/100MSDCF/DSC03528.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/100MSDCF/DSC03529.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/100MSDCF/DSC03530.JPG http://lukez34.com/liquidglass/100MSDCF/DSC03521.JPG Not bad for a 13 year old car eh? Dannymik
While waxing did you use a buffer/ polisher? It looks great...gets me thinking of doing my car .
Power-Glide
Factory paint?
LukeZ34
If you had bad oxidation like I did, then the buffer didn't do much good in getting that off. I had to use hand power to remove all of that, and it wasn't easy. The only time I used the buffer was removing the last coat of polish. Everything else I removed and applied by hand. The car was repainted at some point in time.. not sure when.
GPdriver1986
Hey LukeZ34 nice TGP it looks in good shape, does it have any rust anywhere? I want to know something though, by oxidation do you mean that the clear coat has faded away?
mdelorie
Paint oxidizes like almost anything else does. It builds up a layer of "duller" stuff on top. Removing it once or twice a year is the best way to keep 'er lookin' good! Awesome work Luke! She looks like a beaut! Last time I waxed my car, I got halfway through the cleaner, and developed "tennis elbow"... an arm injury from waxing my car.

LukeZ34
You can pickup everything online at http://www.liquidglass.com and some autoparts stores carry some of their products as well. The $50 kit included the precleaner, polish, car wash solution, leather cleaner, leather conditioner, terry cloth, and polish applicator. Thanks for the kind words guys.. Even with a 6 hour road trip to Amarillo Texas, it still looks good. (With the addition of a few bugs plastered to the front of course!) 95GTP
Hey follow the instructions and let it bake in the sun. I have three coats on my Black GTP now and I havent washed it in 2 weeks, now as anal as I am I never let my car go that long without a wash but this stuff is awsome, I just use a california duster and its clean again. You can get just the liquid glass without all the extras fro about $15, I got mine on sale for $10. ==95GTP
