dodgethis
Man I'm confused here. I've never changed the PCV Valve on my 3800 Series 1. I know where it is, and have seen pictures of it. What is its purpose? What are the consequences of me not changing it after...207k miles? Better gas mileage
RobertISaar
could be clogged. gas mileage isn't really its purpose, its just so that its not like the old way of crankcase ventilation: blowing it straight onto the road. should help keep some gas fumes out of the oil though... so consider it something that could use changing, but its not the end of the world if you don't... BTW i have possibly the original one from the factory in the monte.... at 184K+ miles, it still rattles like it should, but i think i suck quite a bit of oil through the intake... xtremerevolution
Alright, I changed it. Under $3 and under a minute to change it. Cap screws twists off, spring pops up, pull the spring and the valve comes up with it. Repeat in reverse. 30 second job.
