94 olds vert
I keep blowing the fuse for the windows and the power mirrors. I think its number 16 and needs a 10. My problem is I do not have another 10 but I do have a 20. I know nothing about electricity. My theory is if I put the 20 fuse in it should not break. Any ideas? jeremy
it might not blow but you definitely open the possibility of the damaging the components that the fuse protects.....find/fix the problem, and replace with the proper fuse. RobertISaar
And the Weird thing is the windows still work with the fuse being popped. i don't know about you, but the MC uses a circuit breaker, not a fuse, for the power windows... tunerlover3
Theres a reason why its a 10 amp fuse. That is the breaking point before the circuit will be damaged. Putting a 20 amp fuse in there is asking for trouble. Yeah the fuse may not blow, but you could melt a wire and cause a fire. Sounds like something is getting shorted to ground. Get a wiring diagram and start tracing wires.
Addicted2bass
Just put a penny in there, should solve your problem... But seriously, are you sure its for the windows? If the windows work with the fuse blown then its obviously another circuit. Plus a 10A seems really low for power windows.
94 olds vert
Hey I fixed it. I got a power antenna from a firebird put it on and now my fuse does not blow and I have a working power antenna.
