shuck Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 I've got a water leak somewhere in the front of my car. When the car sits out in the rain, the healiner gets wet right by the sun visor. If left long enough, the water makes it to the carpet on the floor. How can I tell if my windshield is sealed correctly? Where do I order a new seal for the driver's side of the car? This car was hit in the driver door and shoddily repeaired, so it most likely is related to that, I'm just not sure how to determine what is actually leaking. Thanks! Ryan Quote
Stevo Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 There is a good chance that the corner of the windshield is leaking. Those window seals at the top seem to promote rust and what may be happening is that a small area of rust has formed and is lifting the glass away enough to allow water to seep in. Get some heat onto that seal and get it pliable, be careful not to break the molding as you bend the front part out enough to peek in. The worst case scenario would be that you have to have the molding replaced and the window resealed (which is a great time to see if the metal has rust on it). Can anyone confirm what I have said?
