SrMichi Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 As some of you guys know i got me a set of passenger side doors during the weekend. now i need help on how to change the glass from the old to the new. I'm guessing the front one would be easier than the rear since the rear one has the little window. anyways any advice and tips are gladly appreciated. Quote
Breakdown Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I just read how to do this in my Haynes Manual and this sounds like a collosal pain in the . . . If you want I can give you a scan. The instructions are about as helpful as Ikea putting a picture of the finished desk in their booklet with vague instructions. I'm scared! Because I'm in the same boat. Quote
SrMichi Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 can you please give me a scan? ill try to figure it out by taking apart the doors that are on the car. Quote
mra32 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 i had to go through this when my lumina was broken into. Its not hard. Its easier to have a helper and when I didnt it took me like 2 hours. You could most likely figure it out. The hardest part is getting the window on the track. It helps if you dont have the rear window guide/sealing trim all the way up when getting it on the tracks. Also the front track should be off the bolts and you should bolt it in when you get the window situated. It also really helps to have use of your power windows when doing this, so make sure you have that hooked up before you start doing that Quote
SrMichi Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 MIKE! just the person i was going to pm. What are these so called tracks? Where are they located? Quote
mra32 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 well on the front door, there is a track at the front of the window. this is the one that has to be removed The rear of the window has a plastic thing that fits into a track type deal on the weather stripping stuff that fits into the rear. The bottom of the window has a metal slide dealie that the lifter for the window has to go in. The lifter has to be all the way up to fit in the slot for the slide dealie i dont know about the rear window since that one wasnt broken into Quote
