my buddy has a 94 cutty 4door and the bushings on the rear leaf spring are trashed. one fell out and now he has a clunking noise. the dealer doesn't list the bushing seperatly. is there anywhere to get them w/o buying the hole leaf spring? junkyard is my only thought on finding one.

thanks,

shane

I have a bad, loud groaning/creaking noise in the rear end of my car just recently. I just got back from the service dept. and they told me it was the rubber bushings at the end of the transverse spring that are bad. He told me that the bushings cannot be ordered seperately anywhere. So the new spring with bushings was gonna cost me $488. Holy balls.

So I went to Checkers and they found me a 'rear transverse spring bushing' for $28.. so we ordered it to see if it is the right item. Dealerships suck.

Either way, its looking like it's gonna be a bitch to replace these buggers.

"Dealerships suck. "

More dealer bashing! I have two of those bushings in my tool box at work and they have part #'s on them, I'll have to check it out. We sell replacements at our dealership, teflon blocks, worked great in my car, only about 5 bucks each.

Well I am just tired of the lying and bullshit they feed me every time I go there.

How easy are these things to replace?

Ook.. so how exactly do these things go in? And to where?

I have NO clue as to what these are or where they go, so all the help you can give will be awesome..

PS. I gotta have this fixed before Thursday.. Someone is interested in buying my car then.

I have a pair of polyurethane pads that I bought off of someone last year [still have to have them installed, even more so now that the rear strut is clunking a little over bumps.]

How do you install these little buggers?
